MALIBU CHICKEN RECIPE

The origin of this chicken is from good ol’ Sizzler. But let’s be honest, I don’t think Sizzler is exactly the kind of food we are trying to emulate.

Maybe back in the day it was the jam but now I feel like we can agree that a better version is out there. THIS is the newer better version of this chicken.

INGREDIENTS

  • CHICKEN BREASTS
  • DELI HAM
  • SWISS CHEESE
  • PANKO BREADCRUMBS
  • PARMESAN
  • SEASONINGS

HOW TO MAKE THIS

  1. Preheat oven to 425℉ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pound chicken breasts thin if they are not thin already.chickenchicken
  2. In a small bowl, add the egg, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, and 1 tablespoon of water. Whisk together.
  3. In another medium bowl, whisk together the Panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture and then the Panko coating. chickenchicken
  5. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium high heat. Add all the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until chicken is done.chickenchicken
  6. Place the chicken on the baking sheet. Add a slice of ham and a slice of cheese. Cook in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until cheese is nice and melted.
  7. While chicken is cooking, prepare the honey mustard sauce. In a small bowl combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, and honey.
  8. When cheese is melted remove from oven and serve with a drizzle of the sauce. Eat immediately.

  • 4 thin boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices deli ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

EGG COATING

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon water

HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey
